Delhi Me Up

Our first field-trip was to Delhi/Agra.

We hit;
- Taj Mahal: No need to explain this one
- Rajghat: An Indian leaders' memorial ground
- Museum: Can't remember which one. There's one in every block here O_O
- Lotus Temple - the biggest Hindu temple in India (I think)
- Akshardham - not sure what the appeal was here. They said we couldn't take cameras inside so I didn't bother going in, as did many others.
- Jama Masjid - the biggest Muslim temple in India
- Free Time - most of us went window-shopping at Chandi Chowk and Palika Bazar.

I feel we spent too much time in some places.
It was a 3-day trip and needless to say, I was quite buggered after it.

Everything is so far apart that most of those 3 days were spent travelling.

In one respect, it was a great trip because I managed to find rapport with several students and that has opened the door to socialising outside the classroom.

It was difficult for an introvert like me at first, but knowing that I would be here for three long months, I had to get out there and make friends.

I managed to get into a small clique that has people from Nigeria, Madagascar, South Africa, Iraq and Ghana. We had heaps of fun and I even managed to persuade them to grab a beer with me. That somewhat, re-enforced my appeal, if any, to them. LOL

We left at 5am on a Saturday and returned to Chandigarh at 1am on the following Tuesday.

We did alot of waiting for participants, particularly at the tour's-end at a location. Some students have no sense of time management and that's annoying as fuck. Sometimes there were 68 students waiting for 2 randoms to return to the bus so we could depart. The organisers were tearing up their hair because everything was planned to the minute.

Needless to say, everyone has a fair idea of who the regular tardy offenders are now.
