North Me Up

Our final tour was this past weekend where we headed up north.

It was a one-day affair so I had high hopes for it.

We visited;
- Pushpa Gurdaj(?) Science City - a city dedicated to science. Who would have guessed.
- The Golden Temple - the largest Sikh temple in India
- Wagah Border - The India/Pakistan border where an entertaining ceremony happens every morning and evening when the border gates are opened and closed respectively.

The Science City was cool. So many things to see and do. We soon found out that the three hours allocated weren't nearly enough for us to enjoy everything.

The Golden Temple was cool. Full as hell though. So I felt quite agrophobic.

Before our guide took us to Wagah Border, he mentioned that there had been a suicide bombing in November there so he felt obliged to inform us before we disembarked. Let me tell you that I wasn't along in saying "Fuck dat!" as about half stayed back at the bus while the others went to view the border ceremony.

Nothing sinister happened, of course but 'tis better to be safe than sorry.

Then yesterday I read about those militant rebels who stormed a Pakistani school and took hoastages (death toll at 126, I think).

It just shows that you can never be certain of anything so I guess the lesson is to tell your loved ones how you feel and live life to the utmost fullest.

Je t'aime. Beaucoup. ;)
